Model
Bruker diINNOVA
Caracteristics
- The AFM is a local probe microscope which allows us to visualize the topography of the surface of a sample thanks to probe-sample interactions (electrical, optical, mechanical, magnetic, capacitive, thermal, acoustic, chemical, etc.).
- The actuator is a piezoelectric ceramic on which a voltage is sent → a mechanical deformation of very low amplitude.
- The resolution is related to the size of the apex of the tip (lateral ~ 10 nm; vertical a few angstroms).
- 3 operating modes:
- contact mode (static)
- non-contact mode (dynamic)
- intermittent contact mode (wide amplitude)
