What you get

Study of material surfaces, chemical deposits, topographic or electronic digital imaging.
Information on friction, adhesion and interaction forces, surface hardness (imaging or spectroscopy).
Resolution: apex of the tip in XY and 5 Å in Z.

How it works

Up to the interaction (attraction / repulsion), we approach a local probe to a surface to be able to reproduce the topography of a sample ; thanks to a servo system.
Dynamic (tapping) or static (contact) mode.
