Biomimetic systems for B12 radical SAM enzymes will be developed with two objectives; first, to help elucidating the mechanism of the methyl transfer reaction catalyzed by B12 radical SAM enzymes and, second, to develop new artificial metalloenzymes that would be able to catalyze the selective methylation of organic compounds such as tryptophane, just like B12 radical SAM enzymes do.
